DAWN partnerships
In partnership with diabetes associations, healthcare professionals, and governments we advocate to put diabetes on the global agenda and to improve the quality of care for people with diabetes. We work in collaboration with advisory boards of key opinion leaders and research institutions to develop educational tools for health care providers.
The core partners for the global DAWN Programme are the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the International Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) who have supported the DAWN Programme since its inception and continue to act as strong partners.
A number of key areas of joint strategic interest between IDF, ISPAD, and Novo Nordisk overall in diabetes is supported by the DAWN Initiative. Key elements include:
- Facilitate consensus and cross-national collaboration towards implementation of evidence-based patient-centric care strategies
- Facilitate implementation of diabetes care guidelines, in regard to the DAWN™ and DAWN Youth Call to Action Priority Areas
Other key partners with agendas relevant for the DAWN™ Programme are the DAWN/DAWN Youth International Advisory Board members, PSAD (Psychosocial Aspects of Diabetes study group), FEND (Federations of European Nurses in Diabetes), AADE (American Association of Diabetes Educators), ESPE (European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology), EU SWEET Programme, Hvidøre Study Group on Childhood Diabetes, IAPO (International Alliance of Patients' Organizations), WHO (World Health Organization), PCDE (Primary Care Diabetes Europe)
